          Shooting Days

THE AIRLIE SHOOT

Held over some 4,500 acres of beautiful country, undulating ground,with river valleys which produce spectacular pheasant and partridge drives, with wild duck and all varieties of low ground game.The Castle drives around Airlie Castle are famous for their high birds and beautiful river setting, whilst the Little Kenny drive on our own farm, is second to none for showing driven partridges at their best.

 
Rough Shooting & Standing/Walking Days

Rough shooting (rabbits & pigeons) is available ALL YEAR ROUND with the let of our Holiday Cottages. We can also arrange for cottage clients to enjoy rough shooting of small numbers of game in season on the 'outsides' of our formal shoots, (October - January). Charges,£80 per week per gun , £20 per head of game shot inc V.A.T. 

We also have available, over the New Year, standing / walking rough shooting for parties of 8 - 12 guns with an expected bag of 80 - 100 mixed head of game.   (Fri. 2nd and/Sat 3rd January 2008).  Charges £200 + V.A.T per gun per day. August - January (lunch & drinks included). These shoots will be organised by myself or the Head Keeper, to fit in with our main programme and the days will be available for clients of our holiday cottages and other interested parties by arrangement.
Duck flighting/occasional Geese
We have now developed seven duck flighting ponds at Little Kenny and Greenmyre, together with other smaller ponds and are able to offer evening duck flighting and when geese are feeeding in our farm area, occasional goose shooting. These evenings can be arranged as an extra to shooting days or as a separate arrangement for clients of the Cottages at a charge of £70 inc V.A.T per gun per flight from September - January.
Tailor made Shoots for Roving Syndicates

We shall be pleased to organise shoots for one or two days at a time to suit roving syndicates of 8 - 10 guns with an expected bag and variety of game as requested. These extra days are fitted in with our main shooting programme, and the charge per head to be quoted would include lunch & drinks.
Deer Stalking Airlie & Tarvie

Situated around Little Kenny and Airlie Castle there is a good stock of roe deer at AIRLIE with some excellent roe bucks in the woods and some 4,000 acres of lower fertile ground.

About 45 minutes away by car from Little Kenny lies TARVIE - a very beautiful moor at the start of the Grampians, rocky, mountainous with exciting stalking and available from 8th September - 20th October. During October it is quite usual to shoot two or more stags in a day.

Red deer stalking basic charges are £165 inc Vat, in September and £250 inc Vat in October for each days stalking or £350 if a shot is taken. If more than one stag is shot in a day there will be an additional charge of £150 per stag inc V.A.T, but no trophy charge. The Estate Landrover is available for clients charged at £25 daily.

Roe Deer Stalking is offered from April - October at a charge of £70 per outing or £120 if a shot is taken.inc V.A.T , trophy fees extra.   If more than one Roe Deer is shot in an outing there will be an additional charge of £60 per Roe.  Two Gold Medal, one Silver and three Bronze Medal trophy bucks have been shot over recent years. Stalking is also available by arrangement from 21st October - 31st March.
