The 'Field' has listed us in a recent article as one of the best Partridge shoots in the UK. With true modesty, I think we are better than that.
This season's bag was slightly larger than Airlie and Balintore bags for 2007/08. A record bag for Partridges for us but before we get too complacent we still have to beat the bag of 4096 pheasants shot in the season 1994/95 at Airlie
We have had another successful stalking season at Tarvie with 35 good quality stags shot - last stag of the season shot was a Royal shot by Simon Chapman. Also a good roe deer stalking season.
I shall be organising for the first time 4 standing/walking days for 8-10 guns to shoot walked up and driven partridges with some snipe and wild duck. The ground we shall use for these days will be in the hidden glens of Baldovie, Meikle Kenny, Sandy Hillock and Fairy Hillock together with the bogs at Little Kenny and Greenmyre. The expected bag for each day will be 80-100 head charged at £2600 (inc vat) for a full party or £260 per gun (inc vat) per day. The likely days will be Mon 1st, Tue 2nd, or Wed 3rd September 2008. Friday 26th September, Saturday 27th September 2008. A good lunch in our shoot lunch room with drinks and wine will be provided on each day. Charged at £25 per person (vat & drink inc). Followers and well trained dogs welcome.
As you can see from the enclosed shoot programme - marked with guns available as at this date, we are becoming very booked up.
I hope you may come and shoot with me again in the new season. If so, please let me know as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
